Remove Write Protected Error from Removable Media



STEP 1:
Insert the locked Removable Media.


STEP 2:
Start -> Run.

STEP 3:
Type "REGEDIT".


STEP 4:
Go to the location "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Storage Device Policies\"


NOTE:
If Storage Device Policies not found.Click on Control then right click on it.
Choose New -> Key.Give name for it as Storage Device Policies.

STEP 5:
On Storage Device Policies,Open "Write Protected".


NOTE:
If "Write Protected"is not found.Then, Right click on empty space of Storage Device Policies.Choose New -> DWORD (32 bit) Value. Give "Write Protected" as Name.After creating "Write Protected",Restart PC after removing the Removable Media. Then, After the Windows logo re-insert the Removable Media.

STEP 6:
Change Value Data to "0" from "1" on "Write Protected".

 

STEP 7:
Click on "OK" button.


STEP 8:
Now, It can be formatted and Files can be copied in to it.
